Welcome to As You Like It Challenge
Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something
which gives you a warm "inner glow" of pride, without lots of entry rules.
Usually we provide options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.
For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.
eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', tell us why.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !
So get crafting and remember to have fun
and enjoy your crafting time.
Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Pearls or Gems (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.
Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:
I favour the subtle shimmer of pearls far more than the bling of gems. I have flat backed pearls in dozens of colours, and rarely use the gems that I do I have.
I love both gems and pearls, but if I could only have one, it would have to be pearls. I think pearls gives an elegant look to a card.
I love gems and pearls as much as each other, but I do think I use pearls more
so my favourite would be pearls, so many colours these days and love the different sizes..
I use both gems and pearls on projects. This time I have chosen pearls. I think they are a little more elegant and delicate on this card.
I love using pearls, because they don't bling too much. They are a nice subtle detail on my cards, especially when they are really tiny and the same colour as my cardstock, as you can see on the birthday card that I made.
Turns out I have lots of pearls in my stash!! Who knew!? So many, in fact that I have made them the star of my card today. The gentle soft lustre looks really pretty on this old Woodware stamp.
There's a time and a place for blingy gems, and that, for me, is Christmas for that little bit of sparkle. For the rest of the year, a more subtle effect is required, and that demands the softness of pearls. I actually shocked myself by how many of both I have stashed away!
I love both but for this challenge I chose pearls. I have a lot of pearls in various colours and shapes. On this card I also used perfect pearls which is hard to see on the picture.
Looks like pearls are winning by a landslide in the DT projects! Sarah's card with the flowers with pearls for the petals and centers was especially amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks for choosing my card in your Top 3. Congrats to all!
ReplyDeleteGreat DT inspiration!
