This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite: Embossing method eg folder/heat etc (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I love the texture and subtlety of an embossing folder. It's amazing to see a beautifully intricate design appear once you peel away the folder and allow the light to reveal the pattern in its shadows.  I've raised the image and layered sentiment on 3D foam pads too for added dimension.

Honestly, heat embossing is my overall favorite.  It is just so magical, however right now, simplicity is important to me. Dry embossing is quick and easy and gives such wonderful results.  I love all the beautiful embossing folders that are available, just run it through your die cutting machine and you get all that yummy texture.

I do enjoy wet embossing but usually mess it up, so dry would be my favourite, adds so much dimension on shells etc..

I love the simplicity of using embossing folder. They give a lovely crisp edge and are a delight to colour for a quick card.

I don't use embossing very often but I do like both techniques. Most of the times when I use heat embossing, it is for images that I am embossing so I can watercolour them. The little edges prevent you going out of the lines when you are colouring. I love the look of dry embossing. It looks very elegant and it is a simple way to add something extra on your card.

Heat embossing for me, especially on Christmas cards.  I love gold and silver on Christmas cards as well as glitter.

The process of heat embossing just has to be my favourite. It's like magic!!

I like an embossing folder and heat embossing. An embossing folder is much easier for a quick card that needs some interest or a clean and simple card.
Heat embossing is a bit more messy to use but the outcome is beautiful.
For this challenge I used an embossing folder and this one is my favorite.

It's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite: Sketch / Layout (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

If you're a regular visitor to my personal blog, you will recognize this as being a layout that I return to time and time again.  I love the pretty design of this card, with its two complementary designer papers and a strip of ribbon hiding the join.  As usual it's decorated with a double bow and a cluster of papers flowers on both diagonals.

I love a sketch with layers and this one fits that bill.   It works well for florals as well as cute images and allows me to use scalloped die cuts or punches.

I can honestly say I have had no favourite sketch until now..
and I will definitely use this one again..

I like to make batch Christmas cards. This makes it easy when I stick to the one layout and just change papers and colours.

I love making clean and simple cards and this sketch is perfect for it. It is just a simple strip of patterned paper combined with (most of the times) white cardstock. You can make your card as clean as you want. If you want it to be really clean you just add an image and sentiment, but you also can decide to make it less clean with stencils and ink. So I think it is a really versatile but easy to use sketch.

This tends to be my favourite layout when I'm having a brain fog moment and can't think of what to do.  It also helps to use up some of my patterned papers of which I have way too much!

I LOVE a sketch and never more so than when I am lacking crafty mojo. My first stop is always to Jules at Always with a Heart. She has a huge library of sketches and I have used many of them.

On this occasion I used Square #37

I like most of the sketches from My Favorite Things. This one I used more than once. Not to many layers.

It's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

So, onto our next challenge

No sponsor this week - we're playing just for fun.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite: Soft or Bold Colours (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I honestly thought I would pick soft colours every time, but having a look at some of my recent cards they've been fairly bright and bold. But I'm sticking to my guns and opting for soft pastels, because I'd definitely pick softer colours out of any line up!

I tend to use a lot of soft or neutral colors, there is just something comforting and homey about them.

I tend to go bold, I love the boldness of red, white,
and blue especially for nautical..

I love using bold colours when I make a card for a child. I like the colours to stand out and be eye catching.

I often want to make a card with soft colours, but most of the time I end up with bold colours, so I made a bold coloured card for today with my favourite card colour: pink.

When it comes to flowers I do love bold colours, especially against a white background, which makes them stand out so well and enhances their colours.

My "go to" is bold. Like Wilma, I wear bold colours, like bold home decor and most elements of my crafting have some bright or bold colour.

Bold colours! For cards, clothes (always bright/bold colours), furniture (I have a bold green leather chair and a Ton Schulten painting) I go for bold colours.

It's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
