Welcome to As You Like It Challenge

Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something

Usually we provide a few options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.

For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.

eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', tell us why.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Colouring Medium  (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I've tried H2O's, Promarkers, Pencils, Copics, Zigs and Docraft Artiste pens in the past but always come back to watercolouring with my DI reinkers like a comfy pair of slippers!  I really should try harder with the other mediums, but I actually find the watercolouring quite therapeutic and I like the way they blend and shade.

I like to play with watercolor and colored pencils, but alcohol markers are my favorite.  I love the wide range of colors and the fact that even I can get them to blend.

My favourite colouring medium is alcohol markers. I use Promakers and Copics. I have tried other brands but don't find they suit me.  I love how Promarkers and Copics blend and the selection of colours.

When I started making cards, I started colouring with pencils and they always have stayed my biggest colouring love. I think they are really easy to colour with although there is always room for improvement.

I started with Copics and like that they are refillable, are good to blend and have a great variety of colours. I like to have a little go with Zigs now and again, but Copics are my first choice.

It's always been Promarkers for me, they blend beautifully and the colour families work so well. I have pens from all the other well known brands in my work room but somehow always go back to the good old Pros no matter how hard I try not to!!

It's watercolours for me, usually Distress Inks (ReInkers) as I have for this card, although I do occasionally have a dabble with my Zigs.  I've tried alcohol markers but never felt the love, and occasionally I'll dabble with pencils, but the comfort blanket is the DIs.

My favorite colouring medium is Copic markers. I love the way they blend and the bright colours.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite way to add Ribbon to your project (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Anne
I think ribbon is a lovely finishing touch when you use a tag on a card.
I just buy white or cream and colour it with pens/inks to match.

I like using 2 papers on my cards and use a strip of satin ribbon to cover the join, as well as add a double bow in the same ribbon.  The double bows are really easy to make once you get the hang of them, and I think they look really special.

My favorite way to use ribbon is on a tag and I just love using wrinkled ribbon.  I think it makes it pretty and very easy to find the page you are marking in a journal.

I only use ribbon occasionally. Usually it is just wrapped around or a bow. I am not  the best at bows and always admire cards with double bows beautifully made.

I love using ribbons on a tag and I really love to combine it with a little bow made from embroidery thread or bakers twine.

I like to add ribbon as a double bow on a card, although I can spend hours looking for the right colour!

.

I don't use ribbon as much as I used to.  I just dislike how they gauge letters by thickness now so even a small bow counts as a large letter.  When I do add any and, if it is to be posted, I'll add some to match the card with double sided tape.  If it's for a family member or a special card I sometimes add a bow.

For a crafter with a ribbon stash that I will never use in ten lifetimes I don't use it nearly enough!! On this occasion I have added a simple bow (frippery of the devil...see below!!) to the bunch of flowers by way of a finishing touch, it's to be hand delivered so a bit of bulk really doesn't matter. If the card is to be posted I might just incorporate a flat ribbon somewhere on the design or use seam binding that is soft enough to squish in the envelope.

Is it very wrong of me to say I don't enjoy using ribbon?  It never stays where I put it, unless it's nailed down, and bows are the frippery of the devil.  However, I did make an exception with this rather sexy piece of black ric-rac ribbon, which was nailed down with ultra-sticky double sided tape.

I don't use ribbons very much but when I use it I attach the ribbon with double sided tape.
Creating a beautiful bow is a challenge for me.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
