This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Flower and (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

After a bit of thought, I decided mine were roses and so I'm counting the rose that the little mouse is holding as well as the rose bud and open rose embellishments  I use these roses a lot, and I also love using the chrysanths and lilies that also feature on my card.

**coming soon**

I have many favorite flowers.  I love daisies and sunflowers because they make me smile.  I love the orchids that bloom regularly in our yard, but for this challenge I went with the rose. I absolutely adore cabbage roses and antique roses because they are beautiful to look and and smell wonderful.

Elaine

I love all flowers so to choose one favourite is impossible. I decided after some deliberation to use my national flower. I love the colour combination and the texture.

I love many flowers, but decided to use a poppy on my card for this challenge. I love poppies because of their colour. I really like red. And they look really cute when you see them next to the road or in a field somewhere.

I don't really have a single favorite flower as I love ALL flowers...so I decided to add a card with an image that has a bunch of flowers LOL...flowers totally brighten my day and make me feel very happy inside. A girl can never have too many!

I love all flowers, but have chosen the rose as it is typically English and they come in many beautiful colours and varieties.  The fragrance of some of them can be gorgeous.

My paternal grandmother "Nanny" was called Daisy so I have always been drawn to daisies and, as the script goes in You've Got Mail, they are "such friendly flowers".

My favourite flower changes with the seasons - most of the year it is daisies, but in Spring there is nothing like a splash of colour from the nodding heads of tulips to make you think everything is going to be fine.

It's hard to choose, but the tulip is one of my favourite flowers. I live in the area where  tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are grown. And in March/April/May the fields are full of blooming tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. I love the colour, the variety and scent of these flowers.

So now it's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite Flower and (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Hugs from the AYLI girls.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your favourite Hair colour combo (in whatever colouring medium you use...

IE: I thought it would be a good way to get people to show their favourite hair combos in whatever medium they use. EG My copic ones would be E59, E57, E35 E53 and E51.
My DIs would be Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs. and so on if you use pencils etc)

You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I debated using Copics which I'm more comfortable with when it comes to hair, but decided to persevere with my paintbrush.  I've used my 'go-to' colours of Antique Linen base with Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and a touch of Ground Espresso working up to the darkest bits.  Considering there's not much in the way of hair in this image, I've managed to use 4 shades!  Brown hair is my favourite probably because I have more browns than any other colour. Obviously nothing to do with it being the colour of chocolate (although that certainly helps!)

Samantha
I love brown highlighted, because it's my own colour and it's the one I find easiest to do.
I used Spectrum Noir pens for this one - EB1 & 2 GB8, GB9 & 10.

I love red hair or hair with red highlights.   It was the colour of my hair before it started turning "blonde".  I love that in certain light it can look brown, but add light and it turns fiery.  I used Copics in E08, 15, 17 for this little redhead.

I love mousy brown hair with highlights because that was the colour of my daughter's hair when she was little.
I used Promarkers Buttercup, Putty, Tan, Caramel and Cocoa.

For the hair I used the following prisma colour pencils: PC941 Light umber, PC 1082 Chocolate and PC 946 Dark brown. I really love the colour PC 1082 chocolate. First because of its name ;) and second because of the warmth of this colour.

Lori

My favorite hair colour is brownish/blonde...I used Copic Markers E50, E31, and E25 for my hair on this cutie! I like making highlights in the hair and this combination is light and easy to do that with!

Lynne

My favourite hair colour combo in Copics for this particular card is E40, E41, and E42 with a touch of E43 because this cute little fairy looks just like my niece so I  coloured the hair to match hers.

Promarkers are my medium of choice and for hair my "go to" colours are Sandstone, Caramel, Cocoa, and Umber, in that order. They blend nicely and always give good results.

When I do brown hair (a favourite because it always feels so warm), I use a light wash of Frayed Burlap Distress Ink (ReInker) and then get busy with the Polychromos Pencils (Brown Ochre, Nougat, Bistre, Van-Dyke Brown, Walnut Brown)

My favorite hair colour is brown, which used to be my hair colour in the older days -lol-.
When I color the hair of an image/digi it is often brown and with Copic Markers # E25, E31, E41, E43.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your favourite Hair colour combo (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.
