So, onto our next challenge

The winner of our first challenge this year will be invited
to be a guest designer for February.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Reason to Craft (eg birthday, Xmas, baby, friendship) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Although I love crafting for Christmas, I'm a bit Christmass'ed out at the moment,
but my next favourite occasion is a 'just because' card,
telling someone special that you're thinking of them.
I made this card for my bestie,as a little way to
remind her how much she means to me.

Just Because is my favorite reason to craft.  It leaves things wide open and there are so many crafty things I love to do.  I also think it is great fun to surprise my friends with little goodies now and then

.

Birthdays are my main card making adventure which I
love to make, they would be my favourite..

I love crafting for any event, but my son's 40th birthday was a very special occasion. Birthday cards are always a favourite to make.

Christmas and birthday cards are very fun to make, but I also love making cards for someone to let them know that I am thinking about them. It is nice to make a card to make someone feel good or special.

Birthdays and Christmas are my favourites.  I need to re-stock my card box and with having made so many Christmas cards just lately I decided to make a birthday card for a change.

As a child of the 70's (and the recipient of many "Petite" Post Office sets for Christmas) my thoughts at this time of year leans towards thank you's. I am reliably informed that this particular one has been received and was made using the stamp set that was gifted.

If I did a head count of what I made during the year, birthday cards would come out on top.  I really do enjoy making them personal to the recipient, either blatantly obvious or slightly more off kilter

My favorite reason to craft is Birthdays or Christmas. For this challenge I chose birthdays.
I always create a birthday card with the birthday girl or boy in my mind.
This card is for my big sister.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.

So, onto our next challenge

The winner of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer for the month of July.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite: Blond or Brunette (colour combo wise) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

As a brunette myself (I'm ignoring the invading greys!) my default hair colours are Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs. I actually find blonds quite difficult to colour as they seem to end up getting darker as I add more layers!

I have to go with brunette.  Most of the humanoids I colour have auburn or reddish brown hair which stems back to my youth.  I loved having the surprise streaks of fire amongst the brown and have fun adding it to my images.

Blond for me, I'm blond [silver, grey, sometimes purple] and always loved the many shades of blond, even being blond I still dyed it when I was young..er..to make it more blond..

I was a brunette once upon a time. Now I am salt and pepper!  I do prefer to colour dark hair, I like the contrast.

I am not a big fan of colouring people, because I don't like colouring hair. So I don't have a real preference for blond or brown hair. I do often try to colour blond hair, but I most of the times I ruin it because I make everything too dark. So for this challenge I wanted to try to make blond hairs and I think I did pretty well this time.

really do struggle with colouring blond hair whichever colour combo I use and am never really happy with the result, so prefer to colour brunette.  You can get the highlights easier because the pens are that much darker.

Brunette for me as it's what I used to be!! I am letting nature do her "thing" and stopped dying my hair a few years ago as I am actually blessed with an even salt and pepper grey now.

I used to be a brunette, very dark, but in later years it had to have help!  I made the decision to stop colouring it the Christmas before Covid hit us (lockdown was a blessing as no one witnessed the badger phase) and now, weird or what, I'm grey with a blonde tint (natural)

Brunette! I used to be a brunette. I have dyed it for a long time but since 5 years I stopped doing it. But now it's a very nice gray. Sometimes people ask me if it is my own color or if it was done by the hairdresser.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

The winner of this challenge will be
invited to join us as a Guest Designer for August

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Farm or Jungle  (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

We have the wonderful Jules joining us as a Guest Designer this month,
so please pop over and leave her a comment.
Here's a little bit about her:

I am a very happily married, craft obsessed workaholic, who could craft 24 hrs a day given the chance!  Such a shame we have to waste time sleeping isn’t it?

Everything I make has a heart on it somewhere ...
... big and bold or small and almost hidden ...
... the fun is trying to find them.

I chose the Jungle option as I just love the thought of so many different animals living wild and free in their natural environment.

So, did you spot the heart?!!!

Here are the beautiful creations made by the rest of our
Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I love animals and a safari is high on my bucket list so I had to choose jungle for this challenge

This was a tough choice for me as I've got a soft spot for lambs and horses, as well as chickens which we used to have as pets, but I have also had a life long love of the big cats, my favourite being the Tiger, so that's what I've opted for on today's card.

Brenda
I wish I could live on a farm, so it's farm animals for me.  I particularly like chickens (even tho not really an animal) because they can have such gorgeous colours in their tails and I have to admire the confidence they exude.

Elaine

I have stretched the theme for this challenge a little. I have chosen jungle in a cartoon way. I bought a range of Disney Winnie the Pooh stamps about 15 years ago. Tigger is one of my favourite characters because his personality is so much fun.

I like working with all kinds of animals on my cards, but I think I have more jungle animals than farm animals. Many sets are bought because my nephew was really into jungle animals. The look on his face when I made something with one of those was just amazing. I love working with jungle animals, because I don't get to see them very often in real. I live in an area where there are lots of farm animals, so I see those often, so I think it is fun to use jungle animals on my cards because of that.

I wasn't sure what to do for this challenge so after a rummage through my stamps I found this adorable image, then realised I have many more farm animals in my collection than jungle animals! So farm animals it is...

I think I have to go for jungle animals, purely because I have far more stamps/images than those from a farm. After all, who can resist a cute elephant?

As an ex-Farmer it couldn't be anything but farm animals all the way for me!!

I think it has something to do with the TV shows I saw as a child, Daktari, Tarzan, etc, and even though I grew up surrounded by farm animals I have always been fascinated by jungle animals.  I think I had a brain fizz for this one because I have created an Urban Jungle......

For me, farm it is without a doubt. I love cows because they are such gentle animals.
And I love chickens too, I don't know exactly why.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
