Favourite way to Add Ribbon (and why)

Welcome to As You Like It Challenge

Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something
which gives you a warm "inner glow" of pride, without lots of entry rules.

Usually we provide a few options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.

For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.

eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', tell us why.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !

So get crafting and remember to have fun
and enjoy your crafting time.

Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite way to add Ribbon to your project (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Anne
I think ribbon is a lovely finishing touch when you use a tag on a card.
I just buy white or cream and colour it with pens/inks to match.

I like using 2 papers on my cards and use a strip of satin ribbon to cover the join, as well as add a double bow in the same ribbon.  The double bows are really easy to make once you get the hang of them, and I think they look really special.

My favorite way to use ribbon is on a tag and I just love using wrinkled ribbon.  I think it makes it pretty and very easy to find the page you are marking in a journal.

I only use ribbon occasionally. Usually it is just wrapped around or a bow. I am not  the best at bows and always admire cards with double bows beautifully made.

I love using ribbons on a tag and I really love to combine it with a little bow made from embroidery thread or bakers twine.

I like to add ribbon as a double bow on a card, although I can spend hours looking for the right colour!

.

I don't use ribbon as much as I used to.  I just dislike how they gauge letters by thickness now so even a small bow counts as a large letter.  When I do add any and, if it is to be posted, I'll add some to match the card with double sided tape.  If it's for a family member or a special card I sometimes add a bow.

For a crafter with a ribbon stash that I will never use in ten lifetimes I don't use it nearly enough!! On this occasion I have added a simple bow (frippery of the devil...see below!!) to the bunch of flowers by way of a finishing touch, it's to be hand delivered so a bit of bulk really doesn't matter. If the card is to be posted I might just incorporate a flat ribbon somewhere on the design or use seam binding that is soft enough to squish in the envelope.

Is it very wrong of me to say I don't enjoy using ribbon?  It never stays where I put it, unless it's nailed down, and bows are the frippery of the devil.  However, I did make an exception with this rather sexy piece of black ric-rac ribbon, which was nailed down with ultra-sticky double sided tape.

I don't use ribbons very much but when I use it I attach the ribbon with double sided tape.
Creating a beautiful bow is a challenge for me.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.
