This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite way to Add Ribbon (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.
Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:
Anne
I always used to add ribbon and lace but recently I've been taking a more modern approach with my cards and there isn't really a place for them.
I like to use dies instead now, this cute ric-rac adds an extra element or a die cut paper bow is a nice finishing touch too x
Double bows are my favourite - Being a bit thinner than satin this organza ties a smaller knot so despite being wider it still isn't too bulky. I used my bow-maker to tie a double-bow and then attached it to the base of my wedding card with some long tails.
I LOVE ribbon and my favourite type of ribbon is wrinkled seam binding. I love the old vintage feel it gives and add it often to tags and dangles in my junk journals.

When I add ribbon it is usually a bow. I am not the best bow maker so if it doesn't work I just tie a knot. Bows and tags just go together.
My favourite way to add ribbon onto my cards is the cheater method ;). I glue a piece of ribbon around the card-stock and glue a separate bow onto the ribbon. I like this because it is really easy. As a little extra I like to use a hole punch to punch 2 half circles on the sides of the card and that is the place where I will place the ribbon. That way is stays really nice in the same place and I think it looks cute.
Lorraine
My favourite way to add ribbon is to tie a double bow and stick it on. I don't really like faffing about with it so I always take the easy option. I tend to stick to satin ribbon as I find it easier to tie and I cut the ends with a ribbon cutter which stops them from fraying.

I don't add ribbon as much as I used to, but when I do it is similar to Larissa with a bow being added after I've attached a piece of ribbon around the card. It takes me a while to get the bow how I would like and I'm not very good with a bow maker either, so when I eventually get the bow right, this method makes it easy.
I have lots and lots of ribbon and, when using it, add a bow on my makes as a finishing touch.
I rarely use ribbon, mostly because I can't get to grips with attaching it, so when I do use it I keep it really simple!
I don't often use ribbons. It depends on the type of card I make. Usually I make a separate bow and when necessary I do the same as Larissa: stick a loose bow on the ribbon. I have to say it takes a while before I am satisfied with my bow tie. For this card I only used a bow.
So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.
Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.
