Favourite type of embossing (and why)?

Last Minute Manda

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using 

Your Favourite way to Emboss (wet/dry etc) (& why).

You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

While I love the effect of wet embossing, I find it a bit messy, and I love the impact of some of my lovely embossing folders. I think they give a wonderful texture to cards, and I love the intricate design of some of my favourite folders. 

Elaine

I love this CAS card with just a little embossing. The embossing gives a bit more interest to a simple card. 

Lynne

I do use both, but probably heat embossing more particularly for sentiments as I think it makes them look more special.

Sarah

I LOVE heat embossed detail. I still get excited by the process after many years of crafting.

Wilma

. It depends on the card I planning to make. For this card I wanted to use a embossing for the background. I love the diamond shape of it. It reminds me of trellis for plants.

This was an easy one for me, because I revisit this particular layout very often. I like the ability to showcase 2 pretty papers with their join covered by some pretty satin ribbon across the card.  I frame a circular image panel with flowers in opposite diagonals, a double bow and a trio of flat backed pearls in the opposite corners. It enables me to use my favourite embellishments (flowers, ribbons and pearls) in a 3D card.

I don't have a favourite sketch. This sketch is one I have used a couple of times for a quick card. 

Larissa

I have pretty simple favourite sketch that is really versatile. It is just a layer of cardstock with a border of patterned paper or cardstock under or on the sides. It gives much room for a large image or even a little scene.

If the image allows I do like this sketch. It's simple and effective.

If I am short of inspiration I visit Jules who has a plethora of sketches that she has devised over the years. On this occasion I have used Square #56

I like this sketch and I often use it. It's simple and versatile.

Dies to Die For

I've used some pastel Springtime tones which I much prefer to bold bright colours as they feel warmer and softer. 

Elaine

I love using colours, but it all depends on the occasion and the recipient. I have used a splash of soft colour on this card as these are my sister in law's favourite colours.

 

Larissa

I love cards with soft colours, but most of the times when I make a card it has really bold colours. I really try to use soft colours, but then something happens and I have really bright and bold colours, so I guess I am team bold colours. ;) But that is okay, because I also love the bright and bold colours. 

Lynne

I prefer to use bolder colours for children's cards. I think they get their attention more than soft colours.

Sarah

I love bold colours, colour that is a little bit unusual perhaps or catches the eye. I have made some Christmas cards. The blue really is much brighter in real life!!

Wilma
For me, my favorite colours are bright colors. They always cheer me up. You won't see me in brown/gray/black clothes very often. So my outfit and creations are mostly in bright colors.
