Happy Holidays to all our As You Like It friends! Thank you so much for making 2019 such a creative year. We are looking forward to seeing all the wonderful projects you come up with in 2020!  We will be taking a short holiday break and will be ringing in the New Year with a new challenge on January 2.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Die(& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Anne

I love dies and use them on all my cards. I like dies which create a card and don't need anything else, I batch made my Christmas cards using this lovely Sizzix die and just added some paper piecing for a bit of colour

I love stitched dies and the XXL Crealies ones in particularly are great because they're such a great size compared to other nesting die sets.  The card stand has also become a firm favourite because it creates something different to a standard fold without any manual cutting and folding.  I find the two dies work really well together because the card stand can support a larger card-base shape.

I love dies, especially tags dies however, lately I have developed a real liking for the stitched background dies.  They add so much interest to a cardstock background and are just so fun!

Elaine
I have lots of favourite dies. Two of them are on this card. First is the stitched square frame and second the stags head. The stitched frames are so versatile and add a little extra detail to a plain square, The stags head I have used for Christmas but is also great for male birthday cards.

My most favourite dies are the basic shapes, that have stitched edges. I love my Crealies dies because they have great sets, with many dies. I love how large the largest die from the set is. I very often use them on my cards.

I do love this Christmas Tree window die.  It is great for a quick and easy card without any colouring involved.

I am rather partial to my Presscut Stepper Die. It certainly cuts down on the measuring and cutting!!

I cannot resist a word die, especially if it coordinates with a set of stamp sentiments

Like Squirrel I also can´t resist word/letter dies. They are so versatile and easy to use and in many different ways.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.

CASE's a DT member's card.
Each DT member has chosen a different theme, so have a look and pick your favourite theme.
You MUST explain WHY you've chosen the DT card concerned.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Anne

I'm still making last minute Christmas cards so if you chose to CASE my card for this challenge I'd like to see a snowy scene or snowflakes

Using Polkadoodles Rudolph Winnie Stamp
I've watercoloured my image, so if you CASE me you need to
use watercolour for your creation.

Brenda
Using Winnie Belle of the Ball
I used Nuvo Drops to add a sparkly, icy look to Winnie's crown.
I would love to see you add sparkle to your creation.

Elaine

I would like to see some holly which is right in season now.

I have made a card with a Polaroid photo on it and that is what I would like to see cased. It was an accident that this image had the perfect size for this Polaroid frame, but I love how it looks. :)

I have CASE'd one of my previous cards, but in a non-traditional colour, and the wording is heat embossed so if you would like to CASE my card I am asking for it to include heat embossing.

Sarah

Now I love all my DT buddies and their work but I just had to copy one of Annette's older cards, I have known her the longest and have watched and loved her style as it has evolved over the years. I consider myself to be very lucky and have quite a few Netty "originals" in my possession too!!
If you would like to CASE me, include a penguin and don't forget to say why!!

This is Annette's card

 and here is mine...

The card I made for you to CASE can be as quick and easy as you like for those last minute makes - all you will need is a stencil, a tag, and a cute critter!

Using Polkadoodles Rudolph Winnie Stamp
If you case me, you need to feature a reindeer.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Like the other ladies I use lots of different ways to add snow to a card. Glitter is quite subtle when you don't want to detract from your main image so I used Nuvo white blizzard glitter drops for my card today

My favourite is to add glossy accents as my 'ground' and then sprinkle on Glamour Dust. I also like to add some snowflakes fluttering around my critters using a white Vivo Pearl Pen. I like the contrast of the glitter and the subtle specks of pearl in the sky.

I actually love using embossing powder as snow, but my current favourite way is using one of the fun snow stencils out there along with some sort of texture paste.  I love that shiny texture!

Elaine

My snow scene is made up with lots of elements. I love the use of embossing folders, but one of my favourite ways to add snow is using snowflake die cuts. They can be a simple single snowflake or several layers and of course a little sparkle.

I love many ways of adding snow on my cards, like stamps, making dots with a white gel pen, but my absolute favourite is using Chunky white deep impression embossing enamel from Stampendous. It is a thick embossing powder that gives a really nice 3d effect. I really love the look of it!

It all depends where the snow is for me.  Falling snow I like to use a stencil and texture paste with a little added glitter.   I like the randomness of the stencil and added texture.  On the ground and branches I often use glossy accents for a bit of depth with added glitter.

On this card I have used torn paper for my snow as it suited the overall scene. Sometimes I use glitter and others I will use a die, it all depends on the style of card.

I make a lot of cards with a vista of white, so favour adding my snowflakes by stamping with a pale blue ink, but for cards like this with a dark sky I do love to use snowflake dies, there seems to be an infinite variety of shapes and sizes so I am constantly collecting new ones!

My most favourite and easiest way to add snow to my cards is with an embossing folder.
It also gives a nice texture to the card.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
