My favourite 3D items are pearls, ribbons and flowers 
I couldn't decide between them so added all three! 
I also like layering my panels on foam pads to create more 3D texture

My favourite 3D item and how to create texture
If you know me well you will know I LOVE sewing on cards so that is my most favourite way to create texture I also love crumpling die cuts the dotty border is a die cut stained and crumpled then sewn into place, and to add a little more texture a wooden flower coloured and glossy accents and a pearl added.

I just love using embossing folders and this fence pattern looking like is one of my favourite, because it looks so fancy and elegant doesn't it?  I also love to use butterflies on my cards to get some extra texture.

Usually my favourite technique for adding texture, without bulk, is embossing folders. However, on this occasion  I found a pad of pre-embossed core'dinations which I sanded back to reveal the raised pattern. The seam binding ribbon adds some softness too.

Since I found the wonderful snow tex paint and frantage embossing powders I am hooked on them.  I love vintage/shabby chic cards these are a perfect combination. 
Lace and flowers add the finishing touch to this card.

an Inspirational Object (& why).

Instead of explaining why it's your favourite like we usually ask, in order to qualify for the prize, please include a photo of your inspirational object so that we can see what's inspired you.

My inspirational object was this chocolate box 
which was just too gorgeous to throw away. 

Unfortunately, of course, before I could decorate it, I had to empty it.  
Well, that was a really difficult task, but I battled on 
and managed to succeed in emptying it fairly quickly!  ;0)




After successfully emptying the box, I painted it using some leftover cream paint.  I had to give it several coats to hide the dark bits.  After much frustration trying to get rid of brush marks, I used a small paint roller to roll out the brush marks, which gave it a lovely mottled effect.  

Once the paint had dried, I decorated the box with lots of layers of cream and gold card, a gorgeous teddy bear image (teddies are something else I love as well as chocolates boxes), some gorgeous gold organza ribbon, and some golden die cut hearts.   

I also stamped teeny flowers and leaves around the largest circle layer, and also all around the sides of the box, and finally wrapped more of the organza ribbon around the edge and tied a small knot to hold it in place.

My Inspirational Object?
Wow there are so many, but something that has always inspired me

to create in the kitchen is my Grandfathers Sugar thermometer.

My mum gave it to me years ago and I don't use it very often, but have used it to make Jam and marmalade.  

My grandfather made sweets, chocolates and candies.
This is his box of wax wrappers and just some of his metal moulds

 So I was inspired to try and make something.

I was chatting with Annette and she asked why not make something
foodie for the challenge.   I had not considered baking as crafting but I guess its handmade so therefore is also a craft of sorts... so here is my version of my Grandfather's toffee.

 Ohhh Lush! not good for a diet but...
at only 47 calories each sweet it's not so bad really!

I love Blue and White china and a lover of candles so that's where I took my inspiration from.

I love music and can't image life without it, so my inspirational object were CD's from my and my boyfriend's collection. I used an image of a girl that listens to music and also added a sentiment that says: "Laughter is the music of the heart. Listen to it every day."

My inspiration came from this photograph of me on my 1st Birthday wearing a beautiful hand knitted dress that had been made by my Grandma.

My Mum is also an extraordinarily talented knitter. Me...not so much BUT the piccie did inspire me to get the old needles out and this is what I did.

So, let's cover why this card is my style ...
Well, where do I start!!

1. My favourite LOTV character - I couldn't resist the latest set featuring James the bear and this is my first play with one of the newly released images.  
2. I've taken the trouble (in honour of James the bear) to paint him with my DI reinkers rather than reaching for my Copics.
3. Shapes - a lovely fancy nestie shape (for the image) and a shaped card.
4. Stitching - I've taken the trouble to do some stitching (although I regretted doing the nestie shape - far too many curves and corners to get around it neatlly!)
5. Pretty pastel colours - my top 3 colours are pink, aqua and purple
6. Papers - My favourite Papermania paper pad
7. Embellishments - Pearls are my 'go to' embellishments, and a must have on all my creations.
8. Pretty coloured twine and lace
9. Background clouds - I love creating these for the scene that it creates behind the image
10. Colour coordinated elements - Everything is in various shades of purple and lilac, including an element of the image where I sneaked on a spot of purple on the daisies.

Yup, this is just my style!!!  Hope you like it too.

ps - I've just realised that another reason this is 'my style' is that, as is quite common on my cards, I've forgotten to put a sentiment on it.

At least it keeps it appropriate for any occasion!

That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.   ;0)

Ohhhh, What is my style?
Hmmmmm....
Ok, so I am leaning more towards clean and simple,
and when I have a freehand where I can make anything I like...
I love die cuts, kraft, distress inks, punches.  
And if I am not sewing, then I am doodling.

My style: I must say I have a few, but I really enjoy making things with pretty papers and cute images, especially girly cute. I love the Vintage style and making my own flowers, and there has to be a swirl and pearls in there somewhere!

I love 3D projects and this cute calendar is totally my style! 
I love the simple look but effective :)

My "style" is really hard to define. I don't generally add many embellishments as I am always mindful of postal charges so not fussy and fancy. CAS?  Nope, I LOVE patterned paper far too much and I love colouring my images to match. Definitely not vintage, I just can't "do" it!! Cute then? Possibly as my images tend to lean toward cuteness.
 I know...my style is simply "me"!!

I don't have one particular style but I do love soft colours, and so this is a perfect shape card to show that off. I love lace and flowers and anything cute really.
