Favourite Period (and why)

Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge and what an amazing standard of entries we had, making choosing a winner a tricky task indeed.

 However, after much deliberation

Our winner is.....

Julie B

and this is why she loves the sea...

I never really thought about it before, but since we moved to the countryside it is good to go to the coast, walk on the beach with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face and the waves crashing on the beach. I love watching my Grandson playing on the beach also. It was always a great game to be the first one to spot the sea when we went away when I was a kid!

Please email us at AsYouLikeItChallenge@hotmail.co.uk to claim your prize,
and don't forget to grab your *winners* badge below:

and our Top 3 are

So, onto our 54th challenge

The sponsor of this challenge is:

My Mum's Craft Shop

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite decade / period in your life (& why).
This could be a special date (Anniversary / Family Xmas)
or a period of your life (eg your childhood).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I've interpreted the theme slightly outside the box as my card is an anniversary card to celebrate 10 years being married to my lovely hubby.  It therefore celebrates the whole of the last decade of happy memories. A little cheesy perhaps, but nevertheless, a celebration of my favourite decade! :0)

My interpretation of favourite Decade/Era is when I became 16.
I am quite a bit older now but when special family friend daughters turn 16
it reminds me of when I turned 16 and shopping for shoes and clothes.

Carol

The 70's. I met my now hubby at the age of 15 years and married him when I was 19 years old  and lived happily ever after lol! Special memories, my mum made my dress and still have it packed away. I was the apprentice, got all the tacking together to do which came in very handy when I started making my own clothes. And my card reminds me of how I altered the remaining invites and made up my own wedding menus and thank you cards.

I chose Graduation period ... Why? Well just because I am so glad it's over :P I love doing cards for the occasion though :) This cute little owl totally seduced me, so I'm using it on everything :P

Sarah

It's the 60's for me!! I don't advertise the fact but I was born in the 1960's and was brought up in a house full of music which started my love for The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees and the like and I am lucky enough to have lots of old 45's in my rather large record collection.
The fashion of that time also interests me hugely and I have vivid memories of certain outfits that my Mum used to wear when I was a littley!!

My (our) favourite special period was our 25th wedding anniversary. We treated ourselves to a trip of 5 weeks through Australia. It was a wonderful time. We saw a lot of interesting places and have met a lot of nice people.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite decade / period in your life (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.
