Your Favourite shape of cardbase can be a square, but you must say why!
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Most of my cards are a standard 6" x 6" square, but despite that being my most common, it's actually not my favourite!  I love the shape created with my Go Kreate Labels die so today I've dug it out and used it for the first time in a while.

    Samantha
I love 15x15cm Square cards, I love the clear crisp shape and also love that I can matt and layer and love I only have to take off ½ cm off 2 sides and it's exactly the right size for the red layer and then I took off 1cm off 2 sides for the top white layer.

I think my favorite shape has to be the A4 rectangle.  My reason is pretty boring but it is just such a practical size when it comes to postage.

    Elaine

My favourite has to be square. It is a versatile shape and when the card is a little too bulky or delicate for an envelope, I can make a box for posting.

I love square cards. The shape is easy to work with and  you have lots of room to make your project on.

I nearly always make square cards, usually 6" but 7" for more special cards.  I think this is because I find them much easier to fit embellishments on and like them to be symmetrical.  This little exercise has made me think I should be more adventurous!

My favourite shape has to be plain old 15cm x15cm, it appeals to my need for symmetry!! In this case I have used a kraft blank.
My current favourite card shape is rectangle - it satisfies my CAS streak, but is infinitely adjustable to create different shapes and sizes, from long and skinny, to short and squat (I know that feeling!), and it can be used as portrait or landscape too so a very versatile shape
    the outside

    and the inside

At the moment my favorite shape is rectangle. Maybe it's a bit boring, but it is practical and the cards fit in ordinary envelopes.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite shape of cardbase can be a square, but you must say why!

Good luck, and happy crafting.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite Shape or Standard cardbase (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Although I use mostly 6" square card bases, the shape created by my Go Kreate nestie die is my absolute favourite and I don't use it anywhere near enough.  I love the curves, and the fact that despite being so ornate it still stands really well as a tent fold.

Well this is a very easy choice for me I love standard
and would pick 15x15 square card base every time,
why? simply because I love the size and give me plenty
of clean space. even on a card that I have used layers there is still lots of space.

Brenda

Don't get me wrong, I love all the wonderful shaped cards.  I especially love using the GoKreate dies to make all the lovely shapes.  It's just so much easier and more affordable to send a standard card, for me it's usually A2.

Elaine

I do like to make shaped card but more often I opt for 15x15 square cards. I love how you can keep them CAS or make them into something very fancy.

Kat

Although I probably make square cards more often just for speed, my favourite designs are always the shaped cards as I love the interest they add and I find them fun to design on.

Lori

This is an easy one for me - my "go-to" card base is usually the standard A2 (rectangular) base - I don't mind making square cards every now and again if I have a larger image, but I find it's just simple to cut an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock in 2, then you have 2 cards :)

Lorraine

This was an easy choice - I'd choose a square card every time. I don't mind what size square either. I find that everything fits in the space beautifully.

Mojca

I love both actually, but I decided for a standard one this time. I made an envelope which is some kind of an album like gift for a client of mine. Hope he likes it. I really love to make this kind of cards because you can decorate them in so many ways.

Sarah

Standard square for me (generally!!) like Squirrel, I favour symmetry.

Squirrel

My go-to shape is a square!  I think that secretly, somewhere deep down inside, there must be a tiny bit of neat-freak in me that simply finds the symmetry of a square soothing and pleasing - and of course it is so adaptable!

Wilma

My favorite shape at the moment is rectangle. Why? Because for some stamps it just feels right to use a rectangular card.

So now it's over to you.

We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite Shape or standard cardbase (& why).

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite Card Shape or Fold (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I have always loved this shape of card which I create using my Go Kreate labels die. I usually like to team it with a circle shaped image too because I think it accentuates the lovely curved shape of the card base.

If it's not square then the shape I would always go for first is round,
why? I love that I can interlock other circles into it and its quick and easy to die cut.
and to stop it from rolling away I just snip a slither off the bottom.

Brenda

My favorite has to be shaped cards.  I love all the Go Create dies that I see my teamies using.  Unfortunately I have not been able to my hands on any...yet.  I love the shapes you can get using the larger Spellbinders dies.  I cut the so the die is hanging over the folded edge as I have done for my card today.  I love being able to have my craft goodies serve double duty.

Elaine

I do like to play with new shapes of card. This is one of my favourite styles for the girly look.

Kat

I really love making fancy folded or shaped cards but my favourite is the criss cross card because I think it looks so very special and it's fun to have a tag inside that you can pull out.

Lori

I came across this cool design of a card - I know it's probably not in either category of card "shape" or "fold" but it's really cool and I wanted to share it with you all....

Lorraine

I like making square cards but that's a little boring so once in a while I spice it up and make these...  a tri-fold shutter card. There are so many panels to decorate and embellish, although I have kept this one fairly plain, but I think they are very interesting and pretty to look at.

Mojca

Sarah

I love a stepper card, it's still flat enough for posting and the dimension is fabulous. It's also a base that can be dressed up or down.

Squirrel

It was a tussle whether to do a fold or a shape, and ended up combining the two into a "fol-ape".  I think it qualifies more as a fold though.  I love to see both, they always make cards feel more special, I'm just not very good at thinking outside the square

I love easel cards. They are more than just a card.
