This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite Book Inspiration (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

The earliest book that I fell in love with is Winnie the Pooh, by A. A. Milne.

So both my projects today are
   1) for a child,
   2) contain a quote by the Silly Old Bear himself, and
   3) feature a cute bear.

Hmmm this is a difficult challenge for me because I was not and still am not a great reader of books... however i did enjoy reading books and short stories to the children when I worked in a nursery school and one of the stories I found and enjoyed working on is  The Hungry Mouse
The Story is a short story about a mouse who had a very bad time finding food, so I was inspired to use a House mouse image and this one with the mouse and cheese was just right.

Carol

Oh dear!! Since my head always seems to be thinking of crafty stuff, Ive opted to use a book of papers for inspiration. My favourite papers by My Mind's Eye 'Sunshine' in particular and these  I like using as they have a country feel to me but didn't go quite as planned, should of kept clear of making a man card but whats done is done.

Mojca

As it happens there are too many and I just couldn't decide for one so I made a book card...a book in literal sense. I love books by nature (I am an librarian you know :P), so there is no extra explanation needed I hope :)))

Sarah

My card was inspired by the Follyfoot series of books by Monica Dickens.  Why? Because after my family, my  animals are so precious to me and help to keep me sane!! :0)

The Harry Potter books are my favorites. I've read them several times and also seen the films several times. I love the fantasy, humor and suspense. I think they are very well written and have a good plot. This dragon reminds me of the dragon has hatched Hagrid and named Norbert.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite Book Inspiration (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Hugs from the AYLI girls.

My favourites are definitely roses in real life, particularly one called 'Sweet Juliet' which is a beautiful apricot colour and a stunning scent. But on cards, I love this little array of Cherry Blossom mixed in with the open roses and closed rosebuds.  I use it a lot (as you may know if you visit me often!).  I love that they come in so many colours and sizes.

Samantha
I always have a really hard time choosing a favourite flower
I love All flowers all flowers are beautiful
I really love this Zinnia flower stamp and think I will be using it a lot...
I am posting on my blog along with this card lots of my favorite flowers...

Carol

Love Daisies, brings the countryside into my kitchen.

Mojca

I love roses, because they are so delicate and romantic.

Sarah

Sunflowers for me every time, and why...because they are such happy flowers!!

Suzette

I love all flowers as they add that something extra to your home or your cards if you use mulberry flowers

Wilma
It's hard to choose, but the tulip is one of my favourite flowers. I live in the area where  tulips, hyacinths and daffodils are grown. And in March/April/May the fields are full of blooming tulips, hyacinths and daffodils. I love the colour, the variety and scent of these flowers.

So now it's over to you.

Favourite Period (and why)

Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge and what an amazing standard of entries we had, making choosing a winner a tricky task indeed.

 However, after much deliberation

Our winner is.....

Julie B

and this is why she loves the sea...

I never really thought about it before, but since we moved to the countryside it is good to go to the coast, walk on the beach with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face and the waves crashing on the beach. I love watching my Grandson playing on the beach also. It was always a great game to be the first one to spot the sea when we went away when I was a kid!

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite decade / period in your life (& why).
This could be a special date (Anniversary / Family Xmas)
or a period of your life (eg your childhood).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I've interpreted the theme slightly outside the box as my card is an anniversary card to celebrate 10 years being married to my lovely hubby.  It therefore celebrates the whole of the last decade of happy memories. A little cheesy perhaps, but nevertheless, a celebration of my favourite decade! :0)

My interpretation of favourite Decade/Era is when I became 16.
I am quite a bit older now but when special family friend daughters turn 16
it reminds me of when I turned 16 and shopping for shoes and clothes.

Carol

The 70's. I met my now hubby at the age of 15 years and married him when I was 19 years old  and lived happily ever after lol! Special memories, my mum made my dress and still have it packed away. I was the apprentice, got all the tacking together to do which came in very handy when I started making my own clothes. And my card reminds me of how I altered the remaining invites and made up my own wedding menus and thank you cards.

Mojca

I chose Graduation period ... Why? Well just because I am so glad it's over :P I love doing cards for the occasion though :) This cute little owl totally seduced me, so I'm using it on everything :P

Sarah

It's the 60's for me!! I don't advertise the fact but I was born in the 1960's and was brought up in a house full of music which started my love for The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees and the like and I am lucky enough to have lots of old 45's in my rather large record collection.
The fashion of that time also interests me hugely and I have vivid memories of certain outfits that my Mum used to wear when I was a littley!!

My (our) favourite special period was our 25th wedding anniversary. We treated ourselves to a trip of 5 weeks through Australia. It was a wonderful time. We saw a lot of interesting places and have met a lot of nice people.
