Favourite Occasion (and why)

Welcome to As You Like It Challenge

Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something
which gives you a warm "inner glow" of pride, without lots of entry rules.

Usually we provide options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.

For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.

eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', tell us why.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !

So get crafting and remember to have fun
and enjoy your crafting time.

Thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge.

The sponsor of this challenge is Fantastic Ribbons

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Occasion (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

While I love making 'just because' cards (you don't always need a reason to send a hug with a fold in it!) I do especially like making Christmas cards, and try to make some throughout the year to get a little festive cheer into every month!

If I have learned nothing else over that past 2 years, I have learned that everyday is a special occasion.  I love making and sending cards to let my friends know how special they are just because.

I'm a Birthday card girl..I love all forms of card making but Birthdays are my fave, and I get so many orders through the year for using my imagination when I have never met the person..

I just love making cards, but if I have to choose an occasion it would be birthdays. I have many to make of a year and I like the challenge of making something different each time.

I love making birthday cards the most. They are the cards that I have to send the most and it is fun to make a special card for someone who has a special place in your life.

I love making Christmas cards. I like to make them all year round and end up with a good supply when the time comes.

Christmas gives me a warm and tingly feeling, so it's definitely my favourite occasion.

As I get older, there seems to be fewer and fewer of these happening in my circle of friends, but I have always had a fondness for new baby cards, even though I'm allergic to children!

My favourite event to make cards for is: birthday. It gives an extra touch to such a special day.
I always make the card with the birthday boy or girl in mind and try to match the card as much as possible to the person.
And maybe that's because I really enjoy getting birthday mail 😃.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.

Your Favourite True Love or Fabulous Friendships (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I've actually combined the themes by making a 'love you' card for a friend, rather than a Valentines card.  For obvious reasons I only generally make one Valentines card a year, but I love to send 'just because' cards to friends, and that's what this little guy is for.

I love giving special cards and handmade goodies to my friends because I hope it makes them feel as special as they are.

True love for sure, mind you, I LOVE my fabulous friends, but there is something very special with true love..

Both occasions are close to my heart. I love to make cards for my lovely friends, but I do like to make Hubby nice cards for Valentines, birthday and Chrstmas

I love making cards for special friends and this one was extra special, because I received the stamp I used from a special friend. It is always nice to make a card for someone that is important to you and the sentiment that is inside my card is a perfect saying for a card for a special friend: The best place in the world is inside a hug.

I do love making cards for more special occasions such as Anniversaries, Weddings etc. Friends receive a nice one too, but it's more often than not from my card box.

I have gone for Fabulous Friendships. I often send a little card to friends that I haven't seen for a while, it's a lovely way to keep in touch and such a surprise when something nice drops on the door mat!!  This one is for a friend who lost her black lab last year.

Hubby is not really the super-sentimental type, although he will get a slushy Valentine card.  As my outlet for True Love is limited, I've gone for Fabulous Friends, because I have some, no, really, I do, one or two.  And one of them is super special, we're so alike we're almost twins.

I made this card for my husband. We were married 40 years in December.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
