Favourite Colouring Medium (and why)

Welcome to As You Like It Challenge

Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something
which gives you a warm "inner glow" of pride, without lots of entry rules.

Usually we provide options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.

For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.

eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', make a project which includes a bunny, and tell us why you chose 'bunny' in the first place.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !

So get crafting and remember to have fun
and enjoy your crafting time.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Colouring Medium (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I have tried Twinkling H2Os, Promarkers, Copics, Derwent Pencils, Zig Watercolour pens, but my favourite by a long road is watercolouring using my Distress Inks.  The colours are so intense (the phrase 'a little goes a long way' was invented for these inks) and although they're called 'distress' inks, there are some really bright tones in my favourite colours, so there is a shade for every need.

I have several favorite coloring mediums, but will have to go with Copic markers as my most fave.  I love the wonderful variety of colors and the fact that you can refill them.

My favourite colouring medium is water colouring, I just love it and it is so forgiving, paints being my preference though..

My favourite colour medium is alcohol markers. I love the colours and the ease of blending them.

I love colouring with my pencils. When I started card making I also started colouring with my pencils and I still love using them. I love the soft look and they are easy to blend.

I love my Copic markers.  I think it's because they're what I'm most familiar with.  I dabble with Zig markers, but Copics are my go to pens.  There are so many colours and they blend well.

I have tried all manner of colouring mediums during my many years of crafting yet always go back to my trusty Promarkers. I guess it's because they are so familiar to me and I know how colour blends work.

Like all my teamies, I've played with so many different colouring medium over the years.  My first love was watercolours, then I veered off course for a short affairs with Copics and ProMarkers, and then came the discovery of Distress Inks (ReInkers).  All the full of watercolour painting but with inks - I was like a pig in s....... very happy indeed.  I have lost count of the number of years I have been inking now but it is a lot.

I tried different colours mediums like Zig clean colour pens, Derwent coloursoft, Distress inks and watercolours, Copic markers.
The best results I get with the Copic markers. They are easy to blend and have a lot of colours.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite way to decorate a gift (& why).
eg box, bag, wrapping, tag etc.
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I'm sharing a personalised Christmas Gift Tag that I made for my crafty friend.  I love any excuse to make one of these super-sized tags, but especially if it's personalised, so it means a little bit extra love has gone into making it.

I like to make and decorate little boxes for small goodies I give to friends.  They are quick, easy and so fun to make for jewelry I create.

Gift bags for me, especially Christmas gift bags..ribbons, bells, snowflakes, splatters,

I like to decorate wine bottles with a tag. These are simple to make and can be adapted to any occasion.

I love making boxes for presents that I am giving. I love it when they have the perfect shape for the item inside. I have made these boxes for chocolate penguins with smarties inside for my nephews. I love adding a name on a present to make it a personal gift.

When I give a really small present, e.g. jewellery such as earrings to my daughters, I like to put them in a pretty gift bag to disguise them. This one is only just over 4.5" x 6", the photo is deceptive and makes it look larger.

I am most definitely a "jazz it up in a posh box" kind of girl and this one is definitely jazzy. This gift box really makes the simplest of gifts really special and it is so easy to make using any sized square of paper...details here

I love making boxes, but I am so disorganised that I never leave myself enough time.  My safety net for a pretty gift wrapping is a gift bag, ideal for smaller items like jewellery.

I love to create boxes. Very often I give a set of cards as a gift and I always make a custom made box for it. It makes the gift more special.

So now it's over to you.
