Favourite: Autumn or Winter & Why

Welcome to As You Like It Challenge
(a little later than planned this week -  sorry!)

Our fortnightly challenge is a home for you to create something
which gives you a warm "inner glow" of pride, without lots of entry rules.

Usually we provide a few options for you to choose from.
You just need to select and use your favourite option in order to join in.

For a chance to win our prize or top-3 spot,
you need to tell us why you've made your choice.
That way our team and readers can appreciate why it's your favourite.

eg, if the theme is 'favourite animal' and you decide on 'bunny', tell us why.
eg, you love Thumper, the rabbit from Bambi !

So get crafting and remember to have fun
and enjoy your crafting time.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Season (Autumn or Winter) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Although I don't like the winter cold, I do love the festive season and the fact that the warmth and colour of Spring is just around the corner.

I prefer beautiful, crisp Autumn days when you can wear a wonderful soft sweater.  I also love the beautiful colors the leaves turn and that football is back!

Autumn.. the best season of them all for me, not too hot, not too cold and I love the crunch of the leaves under foot..

Elaine

It is winter for me. Getting all wrapped up with scaves and gloves. Taking a walk in the crisp snow then coming home to a nice warm house and hot chocolate.

I love all seasons, because they all have their own special thing. So for this challenge I have made an autumn card because that season is the first one that is coming. I love the colours of autumn, especially all the leaves that are getting the pretty colours.

Out of the two it is Autumn for me.  You can still have some nice sunny days and the trees turn such beautiful colours before they lose their leaves.

Ooh a tricky decision. Autumn gives us colour and berries for jams but being a winter baby I have to say Winter. Crackling fires, frosty walks and of course the Festive Season. I have made a Christmas Folio here full of pretty tags and Yuletide ephemera.

I don't actually mind winter too much, especially if I am cozied up indoors, but my favourite season of the year is autumn.  I love the fresh mornings, the soft light, the warm days, rich colours and smells, it just makes me happy.

Hard choice. I like both. I choose autumn because I love the weather and the smell in the air, the coloring of the leaves and the falling leaves. I really enjoy these things.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Rounded corners or Sharp Edges (ie circles or squares!) (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Looking back at my recent creations they've been mainly corners rather than curves, but if I really ask myself what I prefer, it's definitely circles. I like their softness compared to the harshness of a angle and I like the handmade quality of a shaped card. This Tattered Lace doily die is one of my favourites for circular cards because of all the lacy detail around the edge.

I like the softness of circles though I am a girl that loves symmetry.  I also love all the symbolism attached to a circle or ring.

Circles for me, I love things that are round, round flowers, balls, pom poms, dies and frames.

Elaine

This is a hard choice. I use both circles and squares, so my choice today is squares. It always depends on the image. This design suited square and straight edges.

Most of times I make square or rectangle cards with sharp edges, although I also love making circle cards. For my images I love using circles, because it is a softer look, so I combined those 2 options on this card. A rectangle/or square combined with may circles for my images.

For my card base I prefer squares as I find them easier for layouts but with my images I just go with whatever suits them best and these bunnies are definitely meant for circles.

Straight edges and symmetry for me so this was an easy choice.

I do like a nice square, I like the pleasing symmetry and straight lines

For me it is squares. I love all things square and straight.

So now it's over to you.
