This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite non-birthday occasion (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Firstly we have a fantastic guest designer joining us for the next 2 challenges, and I'm sure it is someone you will immediately recognise.
I'm delighted to introduce the super talented
Lorraine Bailey

My favourite non birthday card to make is a Christmas card - especially if it has a snowman on it. I love  snowmen and I love Christmas so a combination of both is perfect. I always hope that it snows so that I can build a snowman with my grumpy teenagers!

Anne
I love making baby cards and this lovely image from our sponsor Polkadoodles is perfect to send congratulations to a 'Mum to be'. There is a pre-coloured version too which I used here, great for a quick card

Using Winnie White Christmas Lantern
I know it's still April, but I love making Christmas cards. I like to ensure I have enough without a frenzied December rush, so it's never too early to start!  Plus it means I can still play with all my festive stamps, dies and glitter all year round!

I like being able to send Just Because cards to let my friends and family know just how much I love and appreciate them.

Elaine

I have chosen a New Home card. It is always lovely to welcome someone to their new home and a fresh start.

I love making 3 Christmas cards and hello/hugs cards. Normally I try to make a couple of Christmas cards each month, so I will be prepared in December, but at the moment I don't have the right mood for Christmas cards. I do love making cards for my favourite other non-birthday: Hello and/or hugs cards. They are perfect to let someone know that you are thinking about them.

I have 2 non-birthday favourites, Christmas and Baby and I've chosen a new baby card as I just happened to need one :).  I especially love ones for little girls as I always feel you have a better choice of embellishments.

Non-Birthday for me means that IT's CHRISTMAS!!!!!! I never actually put my Festive stash away and make Christmas cards all year round. For something a little different I have made a Christmas Bookmark!!

Actually, thinking about it, a new baby card is sort of a birthday card - hmmmm.
Well, new babies are one of my favourite occasions to make for, you can get away with normally unbearable amounts of cuteness and nobody minds!

My non birthday occasion is a Christmas card for me. Call it my first love. I started doing that many years ago and still haven't stopped. Over the years I have also started making cards for other occasions. I think I can continue making cards for many years to come.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
Don't forget, you MUST explain WHY it is your favourite to be eligible to win.

Good luck, and happy crafting.
Hugs from the AYLI girls.

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
Your Favourite Animals or People (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I'm a huge animal lover and there are some adorable ones around. There are also plenty of cute stamps with people but I always struggle colouring the hair so given a choice I'd go for furry critters every time like this sweet lil' fox by our sponsor Lee Holland

I love colouring critters. I think it might be the 'cuteness' factor but also I think I struggle more with features and folds which tend to be more common in images of people.

Brenda
I love animals and I would much rather colour them than people.  For one thing, I am "hair challenged" in real life and in colouring.  There are plenty of cute people images out there, but the animals just make me smile!

Elaine

I much prefer animals to people. I love colouring cute images so much easier than people.

I love using cute animals on my cards, so this challenge is an easy one! I just cannot resist an image from a cute animal in all kinds of adorable situations.

I find it easier to colour animals rather than people.  I love cute ones and there are so many to chose from.

I spent a moment or two having a tally and found that animals feature the most in my cardmaking. I have never managed to master the art of  colouring hair so given a choice it is definitely animals and come on who could resist a rhino dressed as a bee?!!

Like Sarah, I had a tally up and, shock, people came out on top!
I blame Birdie Brown and CC Designs Roberto's Rascals for this shocking revelation.

My favourite is animals. Especially funny animal images, they make me laugh and I guess the receiver too. It looks like this cute chicken is not as happy on his birthday. And it's fun to colour them.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge and show us your style.
