You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

We've also got a fabulous guest joining us for this challenge.....

Katrina Bufton

Katrina is a very talented crafter so I'm delighted to
welcome her as a guest for this challenge.
Here's a little bit about her and her gorgeous creation:

I live in Somerset with my lovely hubby Will and my loony cat Millie. I run a monthly cardmaking club in Burnham-on-Sea which has been going for over 10 years, and I am lucky enough to be on some amazing Design Teams.

It had to be Fur for me - before I even made my first card in 2006 I designed a cat logo to go on the back. They are definitely my favourite furry creatures - soft, warm, cuddly and they make a fabulous noise when they're happy :o) Also I like to include really cheesy phrases on my cards so it was the perfect opportunity to use a 'purrfect day' sentiment.

And next up are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

Although I've included both on my card, I'm definitely a fur kinda gal!  I don't really like things that flutter (although that also includes butterflies and bugs as well as feathered friends).  Furry critters are usually much cuter. I am slave to two furry felines and I love bunnies which I've featured on my card.

This choice is impossible for me as I love love love both
I have a rabbit and a guinea pig and I also have Ducks and chickens...
But....... for colouring purposes I LOVE fur and especially Henry and House mouse stamps

I had a parrot for many years that was dear to my heart.  He talked and imitated cats and dogs which made everyone laugh, but you can't cuddle a bird like you can a furry creature.  Dogs are my most favorite furry creature.

Elaine

A difficult decission. I do love our feathered friends but cuddly furry creatures always melt my heart.

I love both animals with fur and feathers, but on my cards I have more animals with fur. I love the soft look most animals with fur have, I just want to cuddle them.

It's definitely fur for me.  I like cuddly and cute and I don't really see birds that way at all.

It's definitely fur for me. I much prefer the fur of a dog, cat, horse or in this case a fox!!
Somehow it's hard to feel warm and cuddly about a bird !!

Fur.  There, said it.  Fur.  Love it.  Strokeable, snugglable, sniffable, sooooo warm and cuddly.  Yes, I love fur more than feathers.  Especially on a cat.

Fur for me. I love cats. I love to play and cuddle with them. They are so cute.

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase Your Favourite Fur or Feathers (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Your Favourite Embellishment (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I couldn't decide between pearls (which I add to almost everything), my beloved satin ribbons (which I have in a whole rainbow of colours) or flowers (again lots of colours and sizes).  So since I couldn't decide, I opted for all three plus a few die cuts for good measure!

I much prefer pearls to gemstone because I like the sheen rather than the bling, and they're so easy to add without overpowering an image. I also love my double bows in a satin ribbon to match the colours on my card. When it comes to the flowers, I like adding them in little rows of 3 or 5 around the outside of my image panel with the little green stem spirals from curling them around my paintbrush handle.

Samantha

I don't tend to use many embellishments but I LOVE pearls and usually
its the small ones that I make a beeline for as they are good one any kind of card.

Brenda

It's kinda funny, I love embellishments but tend to use them rather sparingly...except for sequins, I LOVE THEM!  I don't know if you can ever have to many sequins.  I love the many beautiful colors they come in.  I think I love them most because they can turn a simple design into something more interesting yet not make it difficult to mail.

Elaine

I have so many favourite embellishments. I choose which to use according to the card I have made. This card I have used pearls and Liquid Pearls. These little bottle of coloured pearls are super to accent small areas. I love the way they add detail to a plain space.

Most of the times my cards are pretty simple without a lot of fuss, but there are 2 kinds of embellishments I regularly use. First of all I loves dies with stitched or pierced edges, because they give a little something extra. My second favourite are my hotfix gems. I use them very often and I enjoy using them. Hotfix gems are gems with a glue layer on their backs. With a hotfix tool that gets hot, you can melt the glue layer and the hotfix gems stick to the paper (or even fabric). Hotfix gems are available in many sizes, shapes and colours available.

I love all the usual embellishments (flowers, pearls etc) but apart from those I do love heart shaped doilies.  They're quick and easy and can be used on many types of cards without being bulky.

I tend not to embellish my cards too much to avoid bulk. However, ribbon is my embellishment of choice as it adds interest without too much depth.

Embellishments, phooey!  I'm a clean and simple kinda girl, some days more simple than others (ha), so I tend to restrict embellishments, a lot.  Rather than being able to add lots of stuff skillfully, my makes tend to look a little, shall we say, rugged.  So I keep it simple.  I love die-cut embellishments but try to use them to echo the theme, like this one with the stars

I love to use the Nuvo Crystal Drops or sequins on my cards. It gives some more interest to my cards.
