This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
your Favourite Christmas Carol or Christmas Song (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I really like the song from The Snowman, 'I'm walking in the air'.  If you're not already singing it, then click on the link and see the flying scene with the boy and his snowman!

My favourite Christmas/ seasonal song is Let it snow.
I LOVE snow when I first get up in the morning after it's snowed and there are no footprints or marks in the snow that first few minutes and then think OH NO I have to go to work in that! DOH!

Brenda

One of my favorite Christmas songs is 'Deck the Halls'.  I loved singing the fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la part of the song when I was a kiddo, for that matter, I still like singing it, it's just so fun!

Elaine

One of my favourite carols is 'O Christmas tree' or in German 'O Tannenbaum'.
I have fond memories of learning this at school in German and thinking how clever I was!

Lori

My favorite Christmas carol or song is "Let It Snow." It reminds me of when we were young and my Dad putting on our Bing Cosby records and decorating the tree, getting things set up for Santa!

Lorraine

Mojca

I like Oh, Holy night, it just reminds me of the warm cozy Christmas nights.

Sarah

The Christmas song that means most to me is Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
As a girl my Dad played a Johnny Mathis Christmas LP (remember those??) and
he lines " Through the years we all will be together, if the fates allow, So hang a shining star upon the highest bough, And have yourself a Merry Little Christmas now" always do it for me and remind me of times so sadly missed.

Anyway here she is, hanging her shining star!!

Squirrel

For me it's a song rather than a carol, and it is a bittersweet one this year as Greg Lake has just passed away.  "I Believe In Father Christmas".  I have loved this ever since it was released, and the first hearing of it always reminds me of how close to Christmas we are.  The words are quite thought provoking.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas is my favorite Christmas song. It's a beautiful song. It reminds me of the older days when the weather was cold and inside it was warm and cosy. And watching all the old Christmas movies. Nostalgia.......

So now it's over to you.
We hope you will join in our challenge, show us your style and
showcase your Favourite Christmas Carol (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Good luck, and happy crafting.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I feel that silver is a bit more modern than gold when it comes to jewellery and that preference also translates into my cards too.  I've used a silver mirri card as the backdrop for my Santa image, embossed and embellished with a frosty border die.  The only trouble with mirri card is that it's so hard to photograph!  I've also used silver on the image itself, where I've used a silver gel pen to colour the ribbon on the present that Santa's hiding behind his back!

... and here's a close-up to show the silver gel pen I used on the bow of the image.

Easy challenge for me I LOVE silver and I really don't like gold
Even all my jewelry is white gold which looks like silver
So that is why I choose silver.

Brenda

Silver, hands down, is my favorite!  I love the wonderful cool feel of silver or platinum, it's so perfect for Christmas cards.

Elaine

I like silver more than gold. It looks especially good with blue at Christmas time.

Lori

My favorite would have to be silver....I prefer it for jewelry and also for crafting. To me, it's more versatile and goes with everything and it shines better than gold LOL....

Lorraine

I love both but when creating a frosty Christmas card scene I love to use Silver, it certainly adds to the Wintry feel of a project or card.
I have used silver mirri card here but it is notoriously difficult to photograph - it always turns out looking black.

Mojca

Well, I like silver better, it has such beautiful shine and I think it just looks wonderful on Christmas cards, don't you?

Sarah

Ooh, a conundrum indeed!! I wear both gold or silver jewellery depending on my outfit so use the same approach to matching paper. In this case I used silver  to compliment the icy blue of my papers.

Squirrel

I love the warmth and mellowness of gold, and of course it was one of the gifts brought to Jesus by the Three Wise Men

Wilma

For me it's silver. I love the 'icy' look of it. And with white it's kind of winter for me, which I love. And it also has an elegant look.

your Favourite Christmas Colours (& why).
You MUST explain WHY it is your favourite.

Here are the beautiful creations made by our Design Team to get your mojo flowing:

I'm not a great lover of gold, green and red, but I do like non-traditional colours at Christmas. I've opted for my two favourites, aqua and purple, a choice which just so happens to mean that I can also use my favourite Christmas paper pad, Snow Princess from Nitwits.

using: sketchy holly mistletoe

I am not one for fussy or fancy and the more I craft the more I realise
that C&S is my thing, Also when we decorate our house for Christmas I really
love clean and simple for that too and this holly digi stamp just shouted at me to use traditional colours of Red and Green so I guess this is my favourite.

Brenda
using Winter Rosie Set

If I was forced to choose a favourite Christmas color combo, I guess I would have to go with the traditional green, red and white.  I think these colors bring back fond memories of Christmas as a child.

Elaine

Cute Robin Chicklets

This is one of the toughest choices for me. I love so may colour combos. I like to make my Christmas cards with different colour themes. Today I was in a red, blue and green mood because it is nice frosty feel and yet a cosy warmth with the red.

Kat

I have a few favourite colour combos for Christmas depending on the style of card I am making and any image I am using.  However, I do find myself choosing blue and brown more often than any other as I think it looks elegant yet cosy all at the same time!

Lori

using Sketchy Penguins

Lorraine
Using Bert Christmas Set
This was a difficult choice for me. I love alternative colours like pink and white or blue and lilac for Christmas but the traditional colours of red, green and gold just called to me for this sweet image, so here's 'Bert's Christmas', isn't he adorable?

Mojca

I love traditional colours and motives and what's more traditional than red-nose reindeer and green/red colours. They are so warm and really remind me of Christmas.

Sarah

I used to be a traditional Christmas colours kind of girl, however, the last few years I have favoured different colour combos so have gone with soft purple and aqua green.

Squirrel

I had to think long and hard about this one as I like lots of colour combos for Christmas cards, but for an actual Christmas at home I don't think you can beat the traditional warmth of red, green and gold.

Wilma
Cute Polar bear
Besides red and green, blue is also one of my favorite colours to use on a Christmas card. I love winter and the colour blue makes me think of cold weather and snow.
